2025 KCSE results: 1,932 score A as 270,000 candidates secure direct entry to university

A total of 270,000 students who took the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams attained a mean grade of C+ or higher, qualifying them for direct admission to university.
President William Ruto, after receiving a briefing from Education Cabinet Secretary Migos Ogamba on the release of the results, noted that this number accounts for 27% of the overall candidates, who totaled 993,000.
In addition, 1,932 candidates achieved the top grade of A, marking them as the best performers in this year's national examination.
The 2025 KCSE exams were administered between October 21 and November 21, 2025. During the period, the Ministry of Education recorded 418 cases of examination irregularities, a notable reduction from the 614 cases reported in 2024.
