More than 5,000 newly trained Kenya Police officers have been deployed to various duty stations across the country following their passing-out ceremony on August 28, 2026.

The deployment follows the completion of their basic training and is being undertaken in line with established procedures governing the posting of newly trained personnel. The officers are expected to report to their respective stations and take up their assigned responsibilities.

According to the deployment schedule, officers have been distributed across different regions, with a significant number posted to operational areas including the North Rift, North Eastern, Lamu and Kwale, among other parts of the country.

The postings will add personnel to existing police formations and stations, increasing the number of officers available for routine policing, crime prevention, public safety and other security operations. The National Police Service has previously indicated that the newly trained officers were being prepared to transition from training into active duty across the country.

The August 28 passing-out ceremony was held at the National Police College Main Campus in Kiganjo, Nyeri County, and was presided over by President William Ruto. The NPS said the recruits had acquired competencies required for contemporary policing during their training.

The Kenya Police Service subsequently reported that more than 6,000 newly trained officers had completed the programme and were preparing to assume duty in different parts of the country. The deployment therefore marks the transition of the new officers from institutional training to operational policing.
