It is alleged that the victim, Ishmael Oundo, had visited Mercy Odoyo at her rented house to celebrate her birthday together with that of her child, who are believed to have been born on the same date, January 14. After the celebrations, Oundo was allegedly persuaded to go to bed to rest before the incident occurred.
The victim is still receiving treatment at a hospital in Busia town after sustaining serious facial injuries.
