Al-Shabaab Camouflage Uniforms Recovered in Eastleigh
Security officers have recovered large bales of camouflage uniforms suspected to be destined for the Al-Shabaab terror group during a raid in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
The operation was conducted on Tuesday night in the Eastleigh area, where officers seized several bales containing military-style uniforms similar to those used by Al-Shabaab fighters. The discovery has raised serious security concerns about possible attempts to smuggle the uniforms out of Kenya for use by the militant group in Somalia.
Police and anti-terrorism units are investigating how the uniforms entered the country and who was behind the consignment. No arrests have been reported so far, but investigations are ongoing to trace the source and intended recipients of the materials.
The recovery comes at a time when Kenya continues to heighten security along its borders and in major urban centres to prevent Al-Shabaab from carrying out attacks. Authorities have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their neighbourhoods.
