Al-Shabaab Militants Kill Area Chief and Teacher in Hulugho Night Raid
In Hulugho Sub-County of Garissa County, tragedy struck overnight when suspected Al-Shabaab militants carried out a deadly attack, claiming the lives of two local residents: Area Chief Abdifatah Gani and primary school teacher Stephen Musili from Hulugho Primary School.
According to security sources, the assailants first targeted the chief, shooting him dead before torching his vehicle. They then proceeded to the teacher's residence, where they opened fire on him outside his home, killing him instantly.
Authorities have described the incident as a terrorist act linked to Al-Shabaab. An intensive operation is now underway to pursue and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the killings.
The bodies of the victims are being prepared for transport as investigations continue. This latest violence highlights the persistent security challenges in the region due to militant activities.
