Azimio La Umoja Rebrands as Ukombozi Alliance Ahead of 2027

The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition has officially rebranded as the Ukombozi Alliance ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka announced the new name on Monday, September 21, 2026, during a press briefing at the SKM Command Centre attended by coalition leaders, including Siaya Governor James Orengo, DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa and former Attorney General Justin Muturi.
> “Moving forward, this alliance shall no longer be called the Azimio La Umoja Coalition; we shall be called the Ukombozi Alliance,” Kalonzo said.
The new alliance will be guided by the slogan“One Term, One Team, One Coalition” and will adopt blue and white as its official colours.
Kalonzo said retired President Uhuru Kenyatta will remain coalition chairperson and is expected to convene a Jubilee Party meeting on Tuesday, September 22.
He also announced plans to expand the alliance, with Umoja na Maendeleo Party (UMP) and United Green Movement Party (UGM) among the parties expected to join.
The rebranding marks a new phase for the opposition as political parties begin positioning themselves for the 2027 General Election.
