Body of Late Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng'eno Airlifted from Eldoret to Nairobi's Lee Funeral Home

The remains of the late Johana Ng'eno, Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr constituency, have been transferred from the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) morgue in Eldoret to Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi.
The body was airlifted earlier today following a tragic helicopter crash that claimed his life and those of five others. Family members, colleagues, and supporters gathered at the hospital to pay their respects before the departure, marking a somber moment in the wake of the sudden loss. Officials confirmed the move is part of preparations for final rites, with the transfer aimed at facilitating further arrangements in the capital.
The incident occurred yesterday in Mosop, where the helicopter carrying Ng'eno and the group crashed under circumstances that are still under investigation. MTRH's CEO earlier verified that the facility received the six bodies from the site, noting their severely damaged condition which prevents open viewing. Ng'eno, known for his vocal stance on regional issues and fearless advocacy, leaves behind a legacy in Kenyan politics, particularly in representing the interests of his Rift Valley constituents. The crash has sent shockwaves through political circles, prompting condolences from leaders across the spectrum.
As investigations into the cause of the accident continue, plans for Ng'eno's burial are expected to be announced soon, likely involving a state or public ceremony given his status. The transfer to Lee Funeral Home, a common choice for high-profile figures, underscores the national attention on this tragedy. Communities in Emurua Dikirr and beyond are mourning the loss, with calls emerging for enhanced safety measures in air travel to prevent future such disasters.
