Bushara United FC from Nambale has been crowned the 2025/2026 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Busia County League champions after defeating Kekalet FC 1–0 in the final played at Kisoko Primary School on Saturday.

The Nambale-based side secured the county title after a hard-fought encounter against Kekalet, with the narrow victory enough to see them crowned champions.

Bushara United’s success marks a change at the top of the county league, with the club taking over from last season’s champions, Lakeview FC.

The competition featured teams from various parts of Busia County, including Lakeside FC from Bunyala, Angorom FC from Teso South, NYSA FC from Samia, and Border Rangers FC from Teso North.

FKF Busia Branch Chairman Eugene Okello, popularly known as #Afobe10, congratulated Bushara United on their achievement, attributing their success to hard work, commitment, discipline and determination throughout the season.

Okello also commended all the teams that participated in the league, noting that their dedication has continued to contribute to the growth of football at the grassroots level across Busia County.

He further congratulated the champions from the different zones and thanked fans, partners, and other stakeholders for their continued support of football in the county.

The chairman singled out Mozart Bet and the Evans Osiya Foundation for their partnership and support towards grassroots football development in Busia.

According to Okello, continued collaboration among FKF, clubs, fans, partners, and other stakeholders will help create a stronger foundation for the future development of football in the county.
