Busia UDA officials Defect to Edwin Sifuna Linda Mwananchi Movement

Cracks have emerged within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in Busia County after a section of party officials and members from Nambale Constituency announced their resignation and declared their support for the Linda Mwananchi movement led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
The leaders said their decision followed what they described as an extensive assessment of the country's political direction and the growing concerns of ordinary Kenyans.
Addressing the media, Nambale UDA Chairman Dr. Isaac Omerui said the group could no longer remain in a party that, in their view, had failed to meet the expectations of its supporters.
"Our decision is guided by the interests of the people. We believe Kenya needs leadership that is accountable, transparent, and committed to improving the lives of wananchi," ~ Dr Isaac Omeri
The defectors accused the ruling party of falling short of the pledges it made during the campaign period, arguing that many Kenyans continue to grapple with economic hardships despite promises of better governance and development.
"The president once came here at Nambale and promised us electricity. He said he’d bring 1 billion over that. He also talked about roads. But up to now, nothing has happened. The government isn’t giving our youth jobs. It’s just empty promises."We have chosen to support a movement that we believe will champion the voices of ordinary citizens and place their welfare at the centre of leadership,"
Among those who announced their departure from UDA are Nambale Youth Leader Dennis Okubala, Nickson Namulanda Okwara , and constituency treasurer Dorin Napunyi.
The group expressed optimism that their new political home would provide a platform to advocate for accountability, good governance, and policies aimed at improving the livelihoods of Kenyans.
