Capitol Hill Police Station in Nairobi Officially Degazetted, Officers Redeployed

The Capitol Hill Police Station in Nairobi has been officially removed from the list of active police facilities, bringing its operations to an immediate end.
The degazettement was announced on April 8, 2026, leading to the closure of the station and the relocation of all officers stationed there. They have been reassigned to other police stations within the Kilimani sub-county and the wider Nairobi region.
In an official notice, Officer Commanding Station Tusca Opondo stated that he and his team had been instructed to vacate the premises as quickly as possible. All officers previously based at Capitol Hill have now been redeployed to continue their duties at new locations. The move marks the formal end of services at the station, which had been serving the local community in the area.
Members of the public with pending matters at the station were advised to act quickly. Those with cash bail deposits were asked to collect their refunds before the funds are transferred to the National Treasury. In addition, multi-agency investigators holding cases or exhibits, including motor vehicles, at the station were urged to collect them without delay to avoid complications. This development is part of ongoing adjustments in police operations across the capital.
