Carrick'S Future At Manchester United Set As Talks Progress

Michael Carrick is on the verge of being named Manchester United’s permanent manager, with club executives set to sign him for the role after a dramatic upturn in form since taking over in January 2026
He's therefore expected to continue to the next season and even beyond regarding his performance as the club's manager this season.
The 44 year old former united mid-fielder was appointed as the head coach on January 13 following the sacking of Ruben Amorim. Since then, United have climbed from 7th to 3rd place in the premier league and secured Champions League qualifications with two games to spare.
The improvement has convinced senior figures at Old Trafford.
Players and the management shared the same opinion on Carrisck's role highlighting his contribution to the club.
Negotiations are believed to be entering the last stage as both parties expect to reach and agreement . Carrick would help maintain the stability of the club and focus on future plans of winning different leagues.
He faces the media on Friday ahead of Sunday's final home game against Nottingham Forest. If approved, it would end a period of manegerial churn at Old Trafford and give United continuity heading into 2026/2027
