CS Kabogo Appoints Widow of Late MP Johana Ng’eno to ICTA Board

Information, Communications and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo has appointed Naiyanoi Ntutu Ng’eno as a board member of the Information and Communication Technology Authority (ICTA).

The appointment, published in a gazette notice on Thursday, April 2, 2026, will see her serve for a period of three years. Naiyanoi is the widow of the late Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament, Johana Ng’eno, who tragically died in a helicopter crash in February 2026.

Naiyanoi Ntutu, a trained lawyer from a prominent family in Narok County, first gained public attention following the death of her husband. She will now contribute to overseeing the operations and strategic direction of ICTA, the body responsible for driving Kenya’s digital economy and e-government initiatives. The move comes as the government continues to strengthen institutions that support technological advancement and service delivery.

The ICTA Board Chairperson, Lily Ng’ok Kirui, welcomed the appointment and expressed confidence in Naiyanoi’s abilities. In a social media message, she stated that she looks forward to working closely with her and has no doubt about the positive contribution she will bring to the team. This appointment is seen by many as both a recognition of her professional background and a gesture of support to the family of the late legislator.
