David Keter Wins UDA Nominations for Emurua Dikirr By-Election

Businessman David Kipsang Keter, popularly known as Dollarline, has finally won the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket for the Emurua Dikirr constituency.

On Friday, 27 March 2026, Keter defeated his closest challenger, Bernard Kipkoech Ngeno (alias Arap Buluu), who was the late MP Johana Ng’eno’s personal assistant. Keter garnered 13,749 votes while Bernard Ngeno received 13,394 votes in a very close contest.

Keter had tried three times before to unseat the late Johana Ng’eno but lost each time. Many people now see this victory as him inheriting the seat after Ng’eno’s death. The UDA nominations were described as peaceful and well-organised, with voters showing maturity. Keter will now represent the party in the upcoming by-election scheduled for 14 May 2026.

His win marks the end of a long political journey for the three-time aspirant. Supporters celebrated the result, saying it shows that persistence pays off. Political observers will now watch closely to see if Keter can convert this party ticket into a full victory in the by-election. The race in Emurua Dikirr remains competitive, but UDA appears confident with Keter as its flagbearer.
