DCI Arrests 'Goliath' Suspect in Connection with Gruesome Malindi Triple Murder

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has successfully apprehended Joshua Ngala Hinzano, alias "Goliath", a key suspect wanted for his alleged role in a shocking triple murder case that occurred in Malindi.
The arrest took place during a targeted operation in Tangini Village, Madamani area of Ganze sub-county in Kilifi County, where the fugitive had been hiding after evading authorities for some time. Described as a prime suspect in the brutal killings that stunned the coastal tourism hub, Goliath's capture marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the incident.
The operation formed part of a wider multi-agency crackdown on criminal elements across Kenya's Coast Region. In a separate but related sweep in Kwale County, DCI officers raided homes in the Denyenye neighbourhood of Ng'ombeni and arrested two young men—Bakari Idi Rai (19) and Daudi Munye Mandu (18)—suspected of belonging to the notorious Panga Boys gang. This group has been linked to multiple violent attacks on civilians along the Likoni–Ukunda road and the Dongo Kundu bypass. The arrests were intelligence-led, highlighting the effectiveness of community tips and coordinated policing efforts in dismantling such networks.
All three suspects—Goliath, Rai, and Mandu—are currently detained at Kwale Police Station for processing. Investigations continue, with authorities expected to present them in court soon. The DCI reiterated its commitment to sustained operations throughout the Coast to restore public safety, curb gang activities, and bring justice for victims of serious crimes like the Malindi triple homicide. The public has been urged to provide anonymous information to aid these efforts.
