Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng'eno Set for Burial on Friday Following Fatal Helicopter Crash

The family of Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johana Ng'eno has announced that he will be laid to rest this Friday, March 6, 2026, following his tragic death in a helicopter crash on February 28 in Chepkiep, Mosop Constituency, Nandi County.

The accident claimed six lives, including the legislator, and preparations for the burial have been finalized after consultations between relatives and community leaders.

Funeral proceedings will begin with a requiem mass on Wednesday, March 4, at Nairobi Baptist Church, followed by a night vigil on Thursday, March 5, in accordance with Kipsigis customs. The bodies of the late MP and Wycliffe Kiprotich Rono will spend Thursday night at the home of Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu—Ng'eno's father-in-law—while the remaining victims' bodies will be at Ng'eno's residence, respecting traditional rites.

A joint burial service for all victims is scheduled for Friday at Emurua Dikirr Primary School, where thousands of mourners are anticipated to attend before individual interments at their respective homes. The arrangements reflect a unified approach by the grieving families to honor the deceased together in this final farewell.
