EPRA Announces Major Fuel Price Reductions for February 15 to March 14, 2026 Period

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has delivered welcome news to Kenyan motorists and households by lowering maximum retail fuel prices effective from midnight on February 15, 2026, through March 14, 2026.
In its monthly review released on Saturday, February 14, 2026, EPRA cited compliance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No. 192 of 2022, resulting in decreases across all major petroleum products. These adjustments include a drop of KSh 4.24 per litre for Super Petrol, KSh 3.93 per litre for Diesel, and KSh 1.00 per litre for Kerosene, with prices inclusive of the 16% VAT as per recent tax legislation.
The revised maximum pump prices now stand at KSh 178.28 per litre for Super Petrol, KSh 166.54 per litre for Diesel, and KSh 152.78 per litre for Kerosene. These figures represent the capped retail rates that oil marketing companies must adhere to nationwide, though actual prices in remote areas may vary slightly due to transport costs. The reductions provide some relief following recent trends in global oil markets and import dynamics that influenced the downward movement.
EPRA's announcement comes amid ongoing efforts to balance consumer affordability with regulatory oversight of the petroleum sector. The new pricing cycle offers a modest easing of transport and household energy expenses for the coming month, with motorists and users of cooking fuel expected to feel the impact immediately. Authorities continue to monitor international crude prices, foreign exchange rates, and other factors that could affect future reviews.
