Eric Omondi Concludes Grueling 366km Charity Trek to Busia for Sisi Kwa Sisi Project

Renowned Kenyan comedian and philanthropist Eric Omondi has successfully completed an inspiring 366-kilometer charity walk from Nairobi to Busia, arriving in the border town on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
The five-day endurance challenge, dubbed part of his "Sisi Kwa Sisi" initiative, saw Omondi alternating between walking and jogging along highways, pushing through fatigue, varying weather, and physical exhaustion to rally support for vulnerable communities. Crowds of supporters joined him en route, providing encouragement, food, water, and donations, while celebrities like Azziad Nasenya and Ferdinand Omanyala kicked off segments of the journey, amplifying the cause.
The Sisi Kwa Sisi campaign focuses on establishing essential facilities for disadvantaged Kenyans, including a hospital offering free healthcare and a secondary school providing free education. This latest walk builds on Omondi's previous efforts, such as a near-500km trek to Mombasa, to fundraise and raise awareness for related projects like the Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre, targeted for completion before May 2026. Supporters documented the progress on social media, contributing to growing public engagement and momentum for the initiative driven by faith, community participation, and collective responsibility.
Upon reaching Busia, an exhausted but triumphant Omondi shared an emotional update on Instagram: “We have run the race, we have kept the faith, and now we must keep the promise. We will build Sisi Kwa Sisi Hospital to provide free healthcare to vulnerable Kenyans. We will build Sisi Kwa Sisi Secondary School to provide free education to vulnerable Kenyans. Mungu mbele. Busia, done!!! 366 kilometers covered.” The feat has reinforced Omondi's reputation as a dedicated activist, inspiring ordinary Kenyans to contribute toward long-term solutions for healthcare and education access in underserved areas.
