Eric Omondi Links Up with Freshly Mwamburi and Nyota Ndogo on Day 4 of Epic Walk to Mombasa

Comedian and activist Eric Omondi received a major boost on Day 4 of his ambitious "Walk of Love" from Nairobi to Mombasa, as he linked up with iconic benga musician Freshly Mwamburi—famous for his timeless hit Stella Wangu—in Voi, Taita Taveta County.
Coast-based artist and entrepreneur Nyota Ndogo also joined the trek, adding star power and local flavor as Omondi pushed through the region toward his final destination. The collaborations highlighted community support, with Omondi expressing deep gratitude to Taita Taveta Governor Andrew Mwadime, the county, Freshly Mwamburi, Nyota Ndogo, and Voi residents in an Instagram post: “Thank you, Taita Taveta County, Asante Bwana Governor, for supporting SISI KWA SISI GOD BLESS YOU!!! Asante Freshly Mwamburi Asante Nyota Ndogo, Asante VOI
The walk, which kicked off on February 11, 2026, from Nairobi aims to cover approximately 486 kilometers over four days to raise funds for establishing a permanent rescue centre under Omondi's Sisi Kwa Sisi initiative. Despite early setbacks—including torn ligaments in his left leg and hip on Day 1, which he vowed to overcome even if it meant crawling—Omondi has stayed determined. On Day 4, he radiated optimism about the home stretch, declaring, “MOMBASAAA KESHO TUNAFIKA MAPEMAAA…Tupatane MAMA NGINA” (We shall arrive in Mombasa early tomorrow… let’s meet at Mama Ngina), targeting a Valentine's Day arrival on February 14 at Mama Ngina Waterfront Park.
To amplify the fundraising effort, supporters can "buy" kilometers or steps on Omondi's behalf through donations, reducing his physical burden while contributing to the cause. The journey has blended entertainment, celebrity camaraderie, and grassroots motivation, with Omondi appreciating the encouragement from locals and truck drivers along the route in prior days. As he nears the coast, the walk continues to inspire calls for unity and generosity under the Sisi Kwa Sisi banner.
