From Bodaboda Rider to Brand Ambassador: The Inspiring Story of ‘Goliath wa Bungoma’.

Isaac Wekesa Khisa, popularly known as Goliath wa Bungoma, is a man whose extraordinary life journey has captured the attention of many Kenyans. Believed to be one of the tallest men in the country, Isaac’s towering physique once made him a subject of curiosity, but today it represents resilience, hope, and transformation.

Born and raised in Nang’eni village in Bungoma County, Isaac comes from a humble background. He worked for years as a bodaboda rider, struggling to provide for his family. At his lowest point, he believed his life had reached a dead end, unaware that fate had a greater plan for him.

Speaking to radio and TV journalist Peter Mukabi, Isaac recalled the darkest moments of his life. After moving to Nairobi in search of better opportunities, several social media personalities exploited his height and physical appearance for their own gain. Despite the exposure, Isaac did not benefit, and his situation remained unchanged.

His breakthrough came when he encountered a good Samaritan—Car Soko, a car dealership company that saw potential beyond his physical stature. The company offered him a job as a brand ambassador, an opportunity that completely changed his life and restored his dignity.

In a remarkable turn of events, Car Soko is now building Isaac a unique three-bedroom, self-contained house in Nang’eni village—one that will stand out across the entire area. Over the past weekend, the Car Soko team was on the ground to officially lay the foundation of the house. Upon completion, the project is expected to cost approximately KSh 3.5 million.

From losing everything during his bodaboda days, Isaac is now on the path to becoming a homeowner—something he describes as a miracle still hard to believe. He says the challenges he endured have shaped him into a better person and a more responsible family man.

Car Soko manager Arnold Afuya said the company’s aim is to help Isaac grow into something bigger—someone the entire society can admire. Patrick, a senior car dealer at Car Soko, added that their mission goes beyond business, focusing on changing societal perceptions and creating a friendly and inclusive environment for all.

Patrick also urged the people of Bungoma and the youth across the country to remain creative, focused, and determined in their efforts to improve their living standards.

Recently, the Car Soko team paid a courtesy call to Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka at his home in Mapera, Kamkuywa. The governor applauded the company for standing with a humble man and supporting a story of hope and transformation.

From a struggling bodaboda rider to a brand ambassador and soon-to-be homeowner, Isaac Wekesa Khisa’s journey is a powerful reminder that with the right support, compassion, and opportunity, lives can be completely transformed.
