Guard at St. Paul's Kokare Primary School Brutally Attacked, One Cow Stolen in Overnight Raid

A security guard at St. Paul's Kokare Primary School in Teso North Constituency, Busia County, is currently receiving treatment for severe injuries following a violent attack by unknown assailants.

The incident occurred overnight, with the attackers gaining entry into the school compound, assaulting the guard, and making off with one cow before disappearing into the darkness.

According to the school's deputy head teacher, Faith Odima, and the teacher on duty, Eugene Etyang, they arrived at the institution as usual on the morning of March 9, 2026. After conducting the routine morning assembly, they were alerted by a pupil who had arrived late and was hiding near the school premises. The student led them to the shocking discovery: guard Charles Omongor lying injured a few meters from the main gate, along the perimeter fence, with both his hands and legs tightly bound.

Security officers were quickly summoned to the scene and immediately transported the injured guard to Kocholia Hospital in Teso North for urgent medical attention. Police have launched an investigation into the attack and the theft of the cow, with efforts underway to identify the perpetrators and recover the stolen animal. School authorities and local residents have expressed deep concern over the security breach at an educational institution, calling for enhanced measures to protect school property and staff during non-school hours.
