Harambee Stars Forward Ryan Ogam Moves to Belgian Club

Harambee Stars attacker Ryan Ogam has secured a fresh start in European football after joining Belgian second-tier side RFC Liège.

The move comes as a loan deal from Austrian club Wolfsberger AC, complete with an option for a permanent transfer at the end of the season. The Belgian club announced the signing on Saturday after Ogam successfully completed his medical examination, marking an exciting new chapter for the young talent.

Ogam’s time at Wolfsberger AC proved challenging, with limited first-team opportunities that left him mostly playing for the reserve side. Despite making just a handful of appearances for the senior team, his performances for the national side, especially during the 2024 African Nations Championship, showcased his potential. The forward expressed determination to make the most of this opportunity in Belgium’s Challenger Pro League.

RFC Liège, which finished fourth in the league last season, is aiming for promotion to the top flight in the 2026-2027 campaign. The club welcomed him warmly, stating, “The club welcomes Ryan and wishes him every success in the blood and navy jersey.” Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy was quick to congratulate the player, saying, “Yes, Ryan. Congratulations my boy. Wishing you the very best.”

Ogam rose through Kenyan youth ranks before breaking into senior football with Rainbow FC in the National Super League. This transfer to a competitive Belgian environment offers him regular playing time and a platform to further develop his skills on the international stage. Fans and officials are optimistic that the move will boost both his club career and contributions to the national team.
