HomaBay - Wife Stabs Husband to Death After Workplace Dispute
A phone and television repair technician has died after allegedly being stabbed by his wife during a heated argument at his workplace in Homa Bay town.
George Clement Lubembe sustained a serious injury on Friday when the disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation near Shivling Supermarket. The couple’s fight drew the attention of members of the public who intervened and managed to separate them temporarily.
According to police accounts, the woman became increasingly agitated after the separation and retrieved a kitchen knife from a nearby business selling chips and chicken. She then returned to her husband’s shop and stabbed him on the right side of his back. Lubembe was quickly taken to St Paul Mission Hospital, where medical staff treated him and later discharged him.
His condition worsened during the night, prompting relatives to return him to the same facility. He was readmitted in a serious state but succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning. Officers who visited the hospital found the body in a temporary holding room and confirmed the location of the stab wound through scene processing.
Investigators collected key items from both the workplace and the hospital, including the suspected kitchen knife, blood-stained clothing and the deceased’s shoes. These have been preserved as exhibits while a formal postmortem examination is arranged. The body has been transferred to the Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary pending the autopsy.
Detectives are actively pursuing the suspect as they continue to piece together the full circumstances of the domestic dispute that turned fatal. The case has highlighted the dangers that can arise when personal conflicts spill into public workplaces, and police remain focused on completing their inquiries and bringing the matter before the courts.
