I have lost the music of my youth - late Emurua Dikirr MP's wife says

In an emotionally charged requiem mass held on March 4, 2026, at Africa Gospel Church in Karen, Nairobi, Naiyanoi Ntutu Ng'eno paid a profoundly moving tribute to her late husband, Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johana Ng'eno.
She described him as the "life of my early days," reminiscing about their youthful marriage filled with softness, shared learning, and endless possibility. "You made it all feel less frightening and more beautiful," she said, highlighting how his laughter transformed ordinary moments into celebrations. Naiyanoi spoke of his deep adoration for their two children, whom he held with immense pride and viewed as his greatest accomplishment, portraying him as a gentle, devoted father and hero in their eyes. She poignantly expressed the depth of her grief: "Your loss feels like losing the music of my youth, the laughter, the dreams," while affirming that "even death cannot take away what we built" in their family and love.
Johana Ng'eno tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash on February 28, 2026, in Chepkiep Village, Mosop Sub-County, Nandi County, along with five others: pilot Captain George Were, Kenya Forest Service ranger Amos Kipng'etich (also referred to as Amos Kipngetich Rotich), photojournalist Nick Kosgey, Robert Kipkoech Keter (popularly known as “Mwalimu Carlos”), and Narok County protocol officer Wycliffe Kiprotich Rono. The Airbus H125 helicopter (registration 5Y-DSB) departed from Wilson Airport earlier that day, picked up the MP in Emurua Dikirr, and crashed in the late afternoon, bursting into flames after reportedly flying low and striking trees. Preliminary investigations are ongoing, with parts of the wreckage set to be analyzed overseas, amid calls for stricter aviation regulations following the incident.
The requiem service honored all six victims amid widespread national mourning for the abrupt loss of the outspoken third-term legislator, known for his advocacy on Kalenjin culture and community issues. Naiyanoi Ntutu Ng'eno vowed to preserve the strong family foundation her husband established. His burial is scheduled for Friday, March 6, 2026, at Emurua Dikirr Primary School in Narok County, where a joint service will also commemorate the other crash victims, providing a final farewell to lives cut short in the tragic accident.
