IEBC Launches New Voter Registration Exercise in Trans Nzoia County

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has officially kicked off the nationwide exercise for registering new voters today.
In Trans Nzoia County, the IEBC County Election Manager, Patrick Wanyama, announced that the target for the first day is to register 45,507 new voters. He urged residents to turn out in large numbers and take advantage of the opportunity to register.
Speaking at his office earlier today, Wanyama revealed that the commission has increased the number of voter registration centres across the county. He added that registration kits (KIEMS machines) have been deployed to all educational institutions in the county to ensure easy access, especially in areas with high population density. This move aims to reach as many potential voters as possible.
Wanyama further stated that individuals wishing to change their polling station or correct their personal details can visit the main registration office. The new voter registration exercise is expected to run for the next 30 days nationwide as the IEBC prepares to update the voters’ register ahead of the 2027 General Election. Residents are encouraged to carry valid identification documents and register promptly.
