INFOTRAK : Babu Owino Tops MP Performance Nationwide
Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has been ranked as the best-performing legislator in the latest CountyTrak Performance Index released by Infotrak Research and Consulting.
The survey gave him an impressive 80 percent approval rating based on public feedback from across the country. This recognition places him ahead of other elected leaders in a comprehensive evaluation of their work.
Kabuchai MP Joseph Kalasinga came in second with 78 percent, while Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro and Taveta MP John Bwire both scored 76 percent. Other strong performers with 73 percent approval ratings include Samburu West MP Josephine Lesuuda, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, Mogotio MP Reuben Kiborek, Keiyo South MP Gideon Kimaiyo Kipkoech, Belgut MP Nelson Koech, and Mkurweini MP Kaguchia John Gichohi.
Additional MPs who featured prominently with 70 percent ratings are Aldai MP Marianne Kitany, Mumias East MP Peter Salasya, Samburu East MP Jackson Lekumontare, Wundanyi MP Danson Mwashako, Mbooni MP Erastus Kivasu Nzioka, and Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi. The poll assesses leaders on factors such as visibility, responsiveness to constituents, and overall fulfilment of expectations.
Results were gathered from respondents in all 47 counties, providing a broad picture of how citizens view their elected officials. Babu Owino’s top position highlights strong support in his constituency and positive perceptions of his contributions. As political conversations heat up, such rankings offer valuable insights into public sentiment and may influence future electoral dynamics in the country. Many observers see this as encouragement for MPs to prioritize development and accountability.
