Langata MP Phelix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, has officially declared his bid for the Nairobi Senator seat in the 2027 General Election on an ODM ticket.
Speaking on a live interview in one of the radio station on February 10, 2026, Jalang’o said he has consulted and walked through the city before deciding to contest, adding he believes he has what it takes to lead Nairobi.
In his own words, Jalang’o stated:
> “Mimi huamua na naendea. Mimi nakuambia naezakuwa gavana Nairobi na naeza kuwa seneta Nairobi na naeza kuwa mbunge wa Lang’ata na naweza kuwa mbunge wa pahali popote hapa Nairobi. Maanake nimetembea, nimeskia, nimeongelesha..why not. Nitaendea!”
He confirmed readiness to face off against incumbent Edwin Sifuna in the 2027 elections, emphasizing his experience as Langata MP and deep engagement with Nairobi residents.
