Kenyans Raise Ksh82,750 for Maraga’s 2027 Presidential Campaign in Just Two Days

Kenyans have responded positively to former Chief Justice David Maraga’s appeal for donations to fund his 2027 presidential campaign.

In only two days, supporters have contributed a total of Ksh82,750 through his official campaign channels. The money was raised after Maraga asked ordinary citizens to support his bid on the United Green Movement (UGM) ticket.

Maraga made the public appeal on Monday, March 30, 2026, urging Kenyans to donate so that his campaign remains people-driven and free from influence by wealthy sponsors. He provided an M-Pesa Paybill number (4164137) and directed supporters to his campaign website for contributions. Many small donations ranging from Ksh100 to Ksh5,000 have come in from across the country.

The quick response shows growing interest in Maraga’s message of resetting, rebuilding, and restoring Kenya. Supporters have praised the former Chief Justice for choosing a bottom-up funding model. While Ksh82,750 is still a small amount compared to the huge costs of a presidential campaign, many see it as an encouraging start. Maraga and his team are expected to give regular updates on the donations received as he continues his nationwide town hall meetings.
