KMPDU Officials Re-elected to Lead Doctors’ Union

Senior officials of the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) have been re-elected to continue serving in their positions.

The elections, which took place recently, saw the entire top leadership retain their seats for another term. The union members expressed confidence in the current team by voting them back into office.

Leading the re-elected team is Secretary General Davji Atella, who will continue guiding the union’s day-to-day operations. Dr. Abidan Mwachi also retained his position as Chairperson. Other senior officials were similarly returned to their roles, reflecting strong support from doctors across the country for the leadership that has represented them in recent years.

The re-election comes at a time when the union continues to push for better working conditions, timely salary payments, and improved healthcare infrastructure for its members. With the same team back in charge, doctors expect continuity in addressing key issues affecting the medical profession, including negotiations with the government on the new Collective Bargaining Agreement. The leadership has promised to remain focused on protecting the welfare of medical practitioners, pharmacists, and dentists in both public and private sectors.
