Capt. William K. Ruto, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA), was involved in a tragic road accident on Friday evening, April 3, 2026, while travelling with his family in Taita Taveta County.
His daughter sadly did not survive the crash. Capt. Ruto is currently hospitalised and reported to be in stable condition under close medical supervision.
In an official statement, KPA expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended condolences to Capt. Ruto and his family during this difficult time. The authority said it is working closely with police and investigative authorities to establish the full circumstances surrounding the accident.
