Security officers at State House in Nairobi arrested a man after he allegedly attempted to force his way through a restricted entrance while driving a tuk-tuk.

The man reportedly approached Gate D, where GSU officers were on duty. The officers are said to have noticed his actions and ordered him to stop as he attempted to proceed towards the secured entrance.

Police reports indicate that the driver allegedly failed to obey the officers' instructions and instead continued towards the gate at high speed.

The situation prompted the security officers to intervene. They reportedly managed to stop the tuk-tuk before it could get past the security barriers and into the restricted section of the State House compound.

Following his arrest, the man was questioned by the officers. Police said he claimed that he was attempting to reach the President because he wanted to meet him.

He was subsequently placed in police custody as officers began investigations into the incident.

Authorities are expected to determine the circumstances that led to the attempted entry and whether any further charges will be preferred against the suspect.

The incident highlights the tight security measures in place around State House, where access to restricted areas is closely controlled.
