Museveni's Grandson Graduates from Elite Military Academy

The 22-year-old completed the rigorous 44-week Officer Commissioning Course, marking a proud moment for his family and the nation. He follows directly in the path of his father, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who graduated with the Sandhurst Class of 2000, and continues a family tradition linked to his grandfather, President Yoweri Museveni.

Ruhamya began his military journey by enlisting in the Uganda Peoples' Defence Forces as a private in June 2025. His selection for the elite training programme reflected strong commitment and potential. At Sandhurst, he trained alongside fellow Ugandan cadet Andrew Bakira Ruyondo, who earned recognition as the best overseas cadet by winning the prestigious International Sword during the course.

The commissioning ceremony saw 247 cadets receive their ranks, including the two Ugandans.
