Aspiring politician and well-known Raila Odinga supporter Nuru Okanga has received a significant morale and logistical boost for his campaign in Kholera Ward, Kakamega County, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a recent event captured on social media, Okanga was presented with three high-end executive suits and a fully equipped campaign lorry (truck) that he will use to traverse the ward during his election trail. The generous donation came from Bishop John CW (also referred to as Pastor John CW), a flamboyant preacher and businessman known for viral online presence and acts of support.
The lorry is described as "fully fitted with a high-end sound system," making it ideal for mobile rallies, announcements, and street-level mobilization—common tactics in Kenyan ward-level campaigns.
In a statement that has circulated widely on social media, Okanga said:
"I am very grateful to Pastor John for gifting me three expensive suits and a campaign lorry that I will be using during my campaign trail in Kholera Ward. This generous support from John CW, a flamboyant businessman, means a lot to me and greatly strengthens my mission as I continue to engage and serve the people on the ground. This development comes amid Okanga's ongoing push to vie for the MCA (Member of County Assembly) seat in Kholera Ward. The former political activist, who has faced legal battles in the past (including an acquitted case involving alleged threats online), has been vocal about his grassroots ambitions and loyalty to opposition figures.
