Ojaamong Urges Busia Residents to Back Ruto-Otuoma Alliance for Lasting Development

Former Governor Hon. Sospeter Odeke Ojaamong intensified his political message to residents of Busia County, calling for unwavering support for the strategic collaboration between President William Samoei Ruto and Governor Dr. Paul Otuoma, which he said is the surest path to lasting development and political stability in the region.

Addressing a charged gathering at Nakhasiko–Nyakwaka village in Funyula Constituency, Ojamong stated that the alliance between the Head of State and the Busia County leadership had repositioned the county at the center of national development planning. He reported that the cooperation had unlocked critical national government support for roads, agriculture, health services and youth empowerment programs, giving Busia a stronger voice in Nairobi.

He added that extending this political partnership for the next ten years is not just desirable but necessary, arguing that development requires continuity, trust and aligned leadership across both levels of government. Ojamong warned residents against leaders he termed political brokers, saying they survive on propaganda, ethnic mobilization and empty criticism without offering viable alternatives.

The legislator further observed that politics of constant opposition had previously isolated Busia from key decision-making platforms, but the current approach had restored relevance and influence. He urged residents to reject divisive politics and instead rally behind leaders who prioritize unity, development and strategic cooperation.

Ojamong concluded by calling on the electorate to defend development-focused leadership at the ballot and to support political formations that promote collaboration, stability and tangible results for the people of Busia.
