President Ruto Explains Why Kenya Stands Out as a Top Place for Investment

President William Ruto has described Kenya as one of the best places in Africa for businesses to grow and succeed.
He made the comments while speaking at a special business meeting between Kenya and Italy held in Rome. The President invited Italian companies to come and invest in Kenya, saying the country offers a welcoming environment where businesses can do well. He pointed out that Kenya has strong systems in place to support new investments and help them thrive over the long term.
During his address, President Ruto highlighted several important strengths that make Kenya attractive. He noted that Kenya is the sixth largest economy in Africa and enjoys steady exchange rates along with low inflation that has stayed around 4 percent for the past three years. These conditions create a stable setting where businesses can plan ahead with confidence. He also spoke about the country’s focus on clean energy, explaining that 93 percent of Kenya’s power comes from renewable sources. This makes it easier for companies to operate in a way that is kinder to the environment and reduces their overall impact on the planet.
The President went on to stress Kenya’s commitment to fairness and the rule of law. He described the country as a strong democracy where courts can be trusted to protect investments. Kenya and Italy already have agreements in place to safeguard businesses and prevent them from being taxed twice on the same earnings. These steps, he said, help build trust between the two nations and encourage more partnerships to develop.
President Ruto also praised the Kenyan people as one of the country’s greatest assets. He said the nation has hardworking, skilled, and well-educated workers who are ready to support any business that sets up there. He mentioned that nearly 50 major Italian companies are already operating successfully in Kenya, showing that the relationship between the two countries is already bearing fruit. In addition, a new Italian foundation office opened in Nairobi earlier this year to help bring even more opportunities for cooperation, including better training for young Kenyans using Italian tools and equipment.
Italy’s Vice Prime Minister welcomed the message and expressed hope that the ties between the two countries will grow stronger. The leaders agreed on a three-year plan to work together in areas such as trade, new technology, education, and security. President Ruto’s words at the forum have drawn attention to Kenya’s readiness to welcome more investors who want a reliable and promising place to build their future.
