RAILA'S BODYGUARD LANDS A JOB IN GOVERNMENT
Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir has named Maurice Ogeta, former bodyguard to the deceased ex-Prime Minister Raila Odinga, as Advisor on Security Affairs in the Mombasa County Government.
The announcement came on Thursday, after the Mombasa County Public Service Board created the relevant roles.
“The appointment is informed by his extensive experience and expertise gained at local, regional and global levels, including his service to the late Founding Party Leader, H. E. Raila Odinga, C.G.H,” said Governor Nassir.
Additionally, the governor appointed Ken Ambani as Advisor on Creative Arts.
Nassir noted that Ambani would assist in revitalizing and bolstering the creative arts sector in Mombasa, drawing on his broad industry background to foster talent nurturing and economic prospects for artists throughout the county.
These appointments come shortly after events marking the late Odinga's posthumous 81st birthday in Mombasa County.The commemorations united Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders and supporters in honoring the memory of the former Prime Minister.
