Mbappé completed his treble in the 80th minute when Vinícius threaded a clever through ball behind the defence, allowing the French striker to chip the goalkeeper with composure and seal the 4-1 scoreline. The second-half dominance reflected Madrid’s superior chance creation and clinical finishing, as they controlled proceedings after the equaliser and left the visitors with little opportunity to recover.

The result provided an ideal start to the home schedule and showcased the lethal partnership between Mbappé, Vinícius and Bellingham.
