School Prefect Stabbed While Breaking Up Fight at Dagoretti South Secondary School

A 17-year-old Form Three student and class prefect at Ruthimitu Mixed Secondary School in Nairobi’s Dagoretti South was seriously injured after he was stabbed in the stomach.

The incident happened when the prefect tried to stop a fight between two fellow students. Instead of calming the situation, one of the students allegedly turned on him and stabbed him.

The victim was rushed to PCEA Kikuyu Mission Hospital, where he received treatment for a deep stab wound. He is now recovering in hospital. His family was informed by the school principal about the attack, though initial details were limited.

Police from Kabete Police Station quickly arrested the suspected student attacker, who remains in custody. Detectives are continuing investigations and have questioned members of the school management. The case has raised fresh concerns about rising indiscipline and violence in some learning institutions. If charged in court, the suspect could face serious offences such as attempted murder or causing grievous harm.
