Students In Bungoma Protest Over A Teacher Having Romantic Relationships with Students.
Students from St. Stephens Chiliba Secondary School, located in Bumula Ward within Bumula Constituency, Bungoma County, staged a protest and marched to the Bungoma County Director of Education’s offices, raising serious allegations against one of the male teachers at the school.
The students allege that the teacher has been engaging in repeated inappropriate relationships with female students, claiming that he has “turned the female students into his wives.” They further cited an earlier incident in which the teacher allegedly impregnated one of the students, a matter they say was quietly suppressed and later forgotten.
The protesting students say they are fed up with the teacher’s conduct and are demanding his immediate removal from the school.
However, the school principal, Madam Wilbroda Wafula, refuted the claims, stating that the alleged incident has never occurred at the school.
Meanwhile, education officials have said that firm measures have already been taken to address the students’ concerns, assuring that appropriate action is underway to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
