Tragedy in Bungoma: Brothers' Dispute Over Gumboots Ends in Alleged Fatal Stabbing

A tragic incident has shaken a family in Shivakala–Lusokho village, Tongaren Constituency, Bungoma County, where a 21-year-old man allegedly stabbed his 24-year-old elder brother to death during a heated argument over a pair of gumboots on Sunday evening

The victim, identified as Joshua Wafula Furaha, suffered multiple stab wounds to the head, neck, and chest, resulting in severe bleeding that led to his death. According to family accounts, the dispute escalated quickly into violence, leaving the household devastated.

The suspect, Davis Wanyonyi Furaha, has since been apprehended by officers from Makunga Police Station and is currently in custody as investigations continue. The deceased's body was transported to the Naitiri Sub-County Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination and further probes. Their mother, Doris Nanjala Furaha, described Joshua as a diligent and hardworking young man who significantly contributed to supporting the family, highlighting the profound loss felt by relatives.

The community and authorities have expressed concern over how a minor disagreement spiraled into such fatal consequences, underscoring broader issues of conflict resolution within households. The family is now grappling with grief while awaiting justice through the ongoing police process.
