Tragedy on the Road — Two Lives Lost in Busia Accident

A quiet afternoon turned tragic in Tangakona, Nambale Constituency, Busia County, after a devastating road accident claimed the lives of two people and left several others injured.
The accident occurred along the Korinda–Mayoni Road when a saloon car travelling from Nambale towards Busia collided head-on with a pickup truck coming from Busia towards Nambale.
The force of the collision left a trail of destruction, with eyewitnesses describing the scene as heartbreaking. Two people died on the spot, while other passengers were left with injuries of different levels of severity.
Emergency responders and police officers quickly arrived at the scene, helping coordinate rescue efforts before the injured victims were taken to various hospitals within Busia County for urgent medical care.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have been transferred to the Busia County Referral Hospital mortuary as authorities begin investigations to determine what led to the fatal crash.
The incident serves as another painful reminder of the importance of road safety. As families mourn their loved ones and survivors recover from their injuries, motorists are being urged to remain cautious, patient, and responsible whenever they take to the roads.
