Transnzoia : Man arrested for beating farm worker to death over Mobile Phone
A 21-year-old man now sits in custody after police linked him to the death of a young farm worker in a rural village last week.
Detectives from Kiminini Sub-County in Trans Nzoia County, working with officers from Kiungani police station and help from alert residents, tracked down and arrested Samuel Kemboi following a determined chase. The incident unfolded in Tawai village within Wamuini sub-location, leaving a community shaken by sudden violence.
The victim, 22-year-old Stephen Ndungu, had only started work as a farmhand the day before the tragedy. On the afternoon of August 24, 2026, tensions erupted between the two men over a mobile phone. What began as an argument rapidly turned physical, with Kemboi launching a fierce attack using repeated punches and blows that left Ndungu unable to defend himself.
Witnesses and responding officers later noted clear signs of the brutal assault, including injuries concentrated on the head, face, and stomach.
