Trump Threatens to “Wipe Out” Iran in One Night.

US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, stating that the country could be “taken out in one night” if it fails to reach a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Speaking at a White House press briefing on Monday, April 6, 2026, Trump said the entire nation risks losing its bridges and power plants unless the vital waterway is opened to shipping traffic by his set deadline of 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday.
The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow passage between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman through which about one-fifth of the world’s oil supply normally passes. Shipping in the strait has been severely disrupted since the ongoing conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran intensified over a month ago, causing oil prices to rise sharply and affecting global energy markets.
Trump has repeatedly emphasised that freedom of navigation through the strait must be part of any ceasefire or peace agreement. In an earlier social media post, he used strong language, warning Iran of “Power Plant Day and Bridge Day” and telling them to “open the fuckin’ Strait” or face severe consequences. Iran has so far rejected temporary ceasefire proposals and is calling for a permanent end to the conflict along with the lifting of sanctions.
The latest threat comes as tensions remain high in the region, with the US continuing military operations against Iranian targets. Many observers are watching closely to see whether diplomacy can prevent further escalation before the deadline passes.
