Winnie Odinga Congratulates New ODM Party Leader Oburu Oginga.

East African Legislative Assembly MP Winnie Odinga made a surprise appearance at the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Special National Delegates Conference (NDC) held at Jamhuri Grounds in Nairobi.
Speaking with clear humility, she publicly congratulated her uncle, Dr Oburu Oginga, after delegates ratified him as the new party leader. Winnie said, “I say this with all humility. Congratulations, Party Leader.”
Winnie urged Oburu to create more space for young people in the party. She noted that many see him as a youth-friendly leader and asked him to include the millions of young Kenyans who support ODM. She added that she had not come to cause any trouble but to support unity and a better future for the party. Winnie also made it clear that ODM remains her political home, built by her family.
This important moment happened on the same day when the party is trying to move forward after the death of its long-time leader, the late Raila Amollo Odinga. Winnie’s message is seen as a call for peace and fresh ideas in ODM. It comes after earlier changes in the party, including the removal of Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as Secretary General earlier this year. Many people now hope her words will help bring unity as ODM prepares for the future.
