Zuchu Confirms Split and Divorce from Diamond Platnumz
Tanzanian music star Zuchu has officially announced her separation from fellow artist Diamond Platnumz, revealing that the couple is heading for divorce.
In a heartfelt statement shared on her Instagram on Sunday, the singer described the decision as difficult after six years together. She emphasized her need to prioritize personal healing, health, and career moving forward.
Zuchu, whose real name is Zuhura Othman, wished Diamond—real name Naseeb Abdul Juma—and his family well. “Our chapter has come to an end, Alhamdulillah. We tried, but Allah has His own plans, and I have no choice but to accept them,” she wrote. The news follows speculation after her absence from recent family events, reigniting public interest in their often-discussed relationship.
The pair first confirmed their romance in 2021 and made headlines with public displays of affection, breakups, and reconciliations over the years. Earlier in 2026, they surprised fans by announcing a private Islamic marriage. Their high-profile union had become one of the most followed celebrity stories in East Africa’s Bongo Flava scene.
Zuchu, daughter of legendary taarab singer Khadija Kopa, has built a successful solo career with hits like “Wana” and “Sukari.” As she focuses on new beginnings, fans are divided between hoping for another reconciliation and supporting her fresh start.
