Governor Natembeya: 2027 Mulembe Nation Has Woken Up, No More Being Used

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has issued a strong political message to the people of Western Kenya, declaring that the Mulembe Nation has finally woken up and will no longer be used by other political players.
Speaking on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Natembeya said:
“2027 Mulembe Nation wameherevuka. Safari hii hakuna kupandishwa kwa gari ya wenyewe.”
He warned the people of Western Kenya against allowing themselves to be used as stepping stones or “vehicles” for other regions’ political ambitions in the 2027 General Election. The governor emphasised that the region must now stand firm, make independent decisions, and support leaders who genuinely represent their interests.
Governor Natembeya’s remarks come amid growing political realignments in the country as parties and leaders begin positioning themselves for the 2027 polls. His statement is seen as a direct call for the Mulembe Nation (comprising mainly Luhya-speaking counties) to take charge of its own political destiny rather than being used to propel others to power.
The outspoken governor has been vocal about issues affecting Western Kenya and has positioned himself as a strong voice for the region in national politics. His latest comments are likely to spark fresh debate on regional political unity ahead of the next general election.
