Sadio Mané's will Retire After AFCON 2027.

Senegal's talismanic forward Sadio Mané has revealed that the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025, hosted in Morocco, will mark his final appearance in the continental tournament.
The 33-year-old star made the announcement following Senegal's dramatic 1-0 semi-final victory over Egypt on January 14, 2026, where he scored the decisive goal to propel the Lions of Teranga into the final against the host nation, Morocco, scheduled for Sunday, January 18, 2026, in Rabat.
In post-match comments to media outlets like BeIN Sports and RTS, Mané expressed his emotions clearly: he described the upcoming final as his "last AFCON" and "last final in the Africa Cup of Nations," emphasizing his determination to give everything to secure the trophy and bring it back to Dakar.
He stated his hope to "win it and take the trophy to Dakar," framing it as an opportunity to bow out on a high by achieving a historic back-to-back continental title—the first for Senegal since their breakthrough win in 2021, where Mané famously converted the winning penalty against Egypt.
This declaration signals the end of an illustrious AFCON chapter for one of Africa's greatest modern players. Mané has been a cornerstone of Senegal's national team since debuting in the competition in 2015, appearing in six editions and reaching three finals (2019, 2021, and now 2025).
