Sombre Mood as Senate Speaker Kingi Joins Mungatana to lay Daughter Amal to Rest

Senate Speaker Amason Kingi on Thursday, September 18, 2026, joined Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana and his family during the burial of his daughter, Amal Naghea Mungatana.
The emotional ceremony brought together family members, friends, political leaders and other mourners who gathered to stand with the Senator during the difficult moment.
Speaker Kingi was among the leaders who attended the burial and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of the Senate.
At the graveside, Kingi stood alongside members of the grieving family as Amal was laid to rest.
Leaders and mourners paid tribute to Amal, remembering her life while offering messages of comfort and support to the Mungatana family.
The solemn ceremony was attended by close relatives, friends and local leaders who came together to bid farewell to the young member of the family.
Amal’s death has left the Mungatana family mourning the loss of a daughter whose life was cut short.
