Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in parts of 10 counties on Wednesday to allow technicians to carry out scheduled maintenance and upgrade works on the distribution network.

The exercise is expected to affect selected areas in Nairobi, Kiambu, Nakuru, Kisumu, Uasin Gishu, Machakos, Nyeri, Kakamega, Kilifi and Mombasa counties.

According to the information provided in the notice, some affected locations will experience power interruptions between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., although the schedule may vary depending on the area.

The planned shutdown could disrupt household activities and business operations, particularly for traders and enterprises that depend on electricity to serve customers, operate equipment and preserve perishable goods.

Kenya Power says scheduled maintenance is intended to improve electricity supply reliability and help reduce unexpected outages. The company has apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused by the exercise.

Residents and business owners are advised to check the company's official website, https://www.kplc.co.ke/, or its verified social media channels for the full list of affected areas and specific interruption times.

Customers are also urged to treat all electrical installations as live throughout the maintenance period because electricity may be restored without warning.
