TikTok Removes 884,591 Videos in Kenya.
TikTok has taken down more than 884,000 videos uploaded from the country in the first three months of 2026 for breaking its community rules.
The platform reported that nearly all of these removals, about 99.7 percent, were done automatically before users flagged them. Most offending content was addressed quickly, with over 96 percent taken down within 24 hours of posting.
The action forms part of ongoing efforts to maintain a safer online environment by enforcing guidelines against harmful material. In addition to videos, TikTok removed thousands of accounts suspected to belong to users under 13 years old to protect younger audiences. The company also interrupted over 103,000 live streams that violated its standards during the same period.
Globally, the platform removed more than 184 million videos in the quarter, relying heavily on advanced technology and human review teams. TikTok continues to invest in detecting issues like misinformation, hate speech, and inappropriate AI-generated content. These measures reflect a broader commitment to user safety while encouraging responsible use of the app.
