MPs Bisau and Pukose Assure Over 20,000 Families in Trans Nzoia They Will Not Be Evicted from Kibagenge Farm

In Trans Nzoia County, more than 20,000 families have received significant relief after Kiminini MP Hon. Kakai Bisau and Endebess MP Hon. Dr. Robert Pukose assured them they will not be forcibly removed from the expansive Kibagenge farm spanning over 4,000 acres, where they have lived for more than five decades.
Speaking at a public meeting at Bishop Muga grounds in Kipegenge Waitaluk, the leaders addressed residents facing uncertainty following a court ruling.
Bisau emphasized that despite the court's decision ordering the families to vacate the land or pay approximately KSh 9 billion to the grandson of the former settler who filed the case, they will not allow the residents to be left homeless. He vowed that the MPs and local leaders would stand firm to protect the livelihoods and homes of these long-term occupants.
On his part, Pukose reiterated that it would be neither reasonable nor just for more than 20,000 families to be displaced by a single individual claiming ownership of the entire farm. He pledged to collaborate closely with other regional leaders and the national government to find a permanent solution to the land dispute, ensuring the affected communities are not uprooted unjustly. The MPs' commitments have brought hope to the residents amid ongoing efforts to resolve the longstanding Kibagenge land issue.
